Laundry Tips

SOFTENS CLOTHES
Add 250 ml (1 cup) of White Vinegar to each wash load or 125 ml (1/2 cup) to the rinse cycle.

UNCLOGS WASHING MACHINES
Eliminates undissolved lint and laundry detergent residue in tub, pipes and drain that build up when the cold water cycle is used most often. Pour 500 ml (2 cups) of White Vinegar into bottom of washing machine tub and run through normal cycle, without clothes, using hot water setting. Pour 125 ml (1/2 cup) of White Vinegar into fabric softener dispenser if it needs to be cleaned. Repeat every three months.

REMOVES STAINS ON CLOTHES
Removes fruit, jam, make-up, wine, ink, mustard, cola-based soft drinks, coffee, tea, deodorant and anti-perspirant stains on clothes. Rub stain lightly with full-strength White Vinegar, and then launder according to manufacturer's instructions. For grass stains let garment soak in White Vinegar for 2 - 3 hours, and then wash as usual. Results are better if stain is removed within 24 hours. Do not use White Vinegar directly on acetate fabrics because it may dissolve the fibers.

DESCALES STEAM PORTS IN IRONS
Pour equal parts of White Vinegar and water into iron's water chamber. Turn iron to steam setting, leave in upright position for 5 minutes, and then steam-iron an old cloth. Repeat the process with water, and then rinse the water chamber with water.
Do not use White Vinegar on a new iron because the acidity may damage the iron.

SETS COLOURS
To retain colours in clothes that tend to run immerse them in White Vinegar before washing.

REMOVES LEATHER AND SUEDE STAINS
Leather: Gently rub a mixture of White Vinegar and linseed oil into the stained area with a soft cloth and then polish with a clean cloth.
Suede: Dip a toothbrush in White Vinegar and gently brush over stain. Gently towel dry.
